Phillip Wallace, M.A.
Director Knowledge Management
Phillip Wallace is ICB’s Director of Knowledge Management. In this role, he partners with HBCUs and PBIs to cultivate communities of analytics excellence and to develop and implement strategies which drive organizational health and student success.
He comes to UNCF with 15 years of experience using data to enable decisions in higher education, having most recently served as manager of data analysis at the California State University chancellor’s office, the administrative head of the nation’s largest 4-year university system. Prior to that, Phillip was a senior research analyst in strategic planning and institutional research, as well as university advancement at Biola University. His career in education began as a math teacher at Redan High School in Stone Mountain, GA.
Phillip earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Georgia Tech and a master’s degree in theology from Biola University. His passion for serving his community is a driving force for him, both personally and professionally. It was a session on the racial digital divide he attended at a National Society for Black Engineers conference that led him to pivot from engineering to teaching. While working and studying at Biola, he helped create and lead a mentoring and support group for Black men and informally mentored many other students from various ethnic backgrounds.
Phillip is excited to serve the HBCU community.
