Aja Johnson, M.Ed.

Senior Program Manager Executive Leadership

Aja Johnson is responsible for the development and implementation of The Executive Leadership Institute. She works to engage HBCU presidents, board members, and advocates for Black colleges. Aja also works alongside the Director of Strategy to help support emerging initiatives, especially those related to enrollment management.

As a former journalist and teacher, Aja developed a meticulous spirit through storytelling, investigative reporting, and careful listening. Her background, combined with a passion for principles of social justice, equity, and education, led her to create best practices for historically oppressed communities to thrive.

Aja holds a bachelor’s degree and masters in education from Howard University and holds a certificate in nonprofit management from Drexel University’s Goodwin College of Professional Studies.
