Dr. Deon Johnson is a dedicated professional with a passion for higher education and a strong background in instructional technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music from Lane College, where his love for academia began to flourish. Building on his undergraduate studies, Dr. Johnson went on to earn a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, equipping him with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the educational landscape.

Driven by a desire to enhance the learning experience, Dr. Johnson pursued a doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership with a specialization in instructional technologies. This academic pursuit allowed him to explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning, integrating technology to facilitate effective educational practices.
 
With over a decade of experience in higher education, Dr. Johnson has contributed his expertise to various institutions, including both traditional universities and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). His roles have been diverse, ranging from working in academic advising at the University of Texas Arlington’s College of Nursing Health Innovation to serving as the Assistant Dean of Students at Parker University College of Chiropractic.
 
Currently, Dr. Johnson holds the position of Knowledge Program Manager within the Institute for Capacity Building at UNCF (United Negro College Fund). In this capacity, he leads projects such as the Institutional Transformation Assessment and ADRF, working diligently to drive positive change and improve educational outcomes. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Johnson finds joy in spending quality time with his family and actively engaging in community service.
